Boilerplate

The story in one paragraph.

Clave is a practice instrument for musicians: a metronome with four independent subdivision volume layers and an instrument-aware tuner in one app. It is designed around a hardware panel rather than a generic mobile UI, with sample-accurate timing, a smoothed tuner needle, 30+ instruments, 30 preset tunings, seven temperaments, a practice log, widgets, Live Activity and an Apple Watch app.

The free version is a complete metronome and chromatic tuner. Clave Pro is a one-time purchase, included in Family Sharing, with no subscription, no ads and no account. The app works offline; the only optional network feature is iCloud sync, which is off until the player turns it on.

What it is not

No subscription.
No account. No ads.

Clave is not a subscription service, a social network or a cloud platform. It does not collect analytics or use advertising SDKs. The microphone is used only while the tuner is listening; the camera is used only to control the flashlight beat lamp. Practice data stays on the device unless the player turns on iCloud sync, which writes to their own private iCloud.

Clave 1.0 does not include odd meters (6/8, 7/8, 9/8, 12/8), polyrhythms, MIDI/Ableton Link or a setlist mode. The FAQ says so plainly.
